Staying in Dresden

We will organize your accomodations according to your preferences with a guest family, a student shared flat with German students, in a private apartment, in a hostel or at a hotel.  Let us know what your wishes are and we will find your home away from home.

Guest family

When staying at a guest family you will experience typical German hospitality  right from the start.  All basic needs will be taken care of and you will have the best possibility to practice your German.

Staying with a Guest Family includes:

  • Single room (double room at request)
  • Use of kitchen and bath
  • Breakfast, half or full board

Student Shared Flat (WG)

Staying at a WG is most popular, because you can take in the life and culture of German students first hand.

You’ll stay in a single room an share the kitchen and bathroom with two or three –usually German- students. At your choice we can situate you in an all-male or all-female WG, mostly in immediate proximity to the school.

The living standard is typical for students: „small but it’s mine“.

Student Shared Flat includes:

  • Single room (double at request) close to the school
  • Usual standard (furnished with central heating)
  • Community kitchen and bath
  • Mostly available (but not guaranteed): washmachine, garden, TV, telephone, internet, bicycle
  • Self cleaning

Note

There is always something happening at student quarters… so it’s not recommended for those who prefer quiet solitude.

Student Shared flats are only available for participants ages 18 years and up.

Apartment/Vacation Housing

If you would rather live alone or with your partner or family, we can arrange a private apartment.  These come with a standard kitchen, bath and TV.  You can choose whether you prefer to be close to the school, in the center, or out in the country.

Hostel

Nearby there are a number of hostels to choose from.  Also we can put you up in a single or double or multiple bed room at a modern hostel in the center of town.

At the hostels you will find all the standard conveniences like TV, internet, washing machine, storage, and games.

Hotel + B&B

From the 5 star Kempinski to the Arthotel, the non-smoking Privat or the longstay Aha, in Dresden there are hotels for every taste and budget.  Contact us and we will arrange a hotel room to suit your needs.

Note

It is important to allow plenty of notice beforehand, especially during times of large city festivities.

Service

Our service starts already upon your arrival.  At request, we can pick you up from the airport or trainstation and bring you to your booked lodging. We also can give you some hints on inexpensive meals as well as shopping and freetime activities.

We are ready to help should any problems with you lodgings arise.  And if your current situation doesn’t work out for you, we will readily organise an alternative.

Pocket money

We recommend to calculate at least 50 EUR per week for pocket money.
