|Kästner and Kästner
||Besides the fact that Erich Kästner was born and
raised in the "Neustadt", the same city quarter where kästner kolleg sprachen
is located, there is no direct relationship between the well-known author,
Erich Kästner and the director, Dr Uwe Kästner. However, an intellectual
relationship certainly exists between the two. We also like to go by the
saying: "There is do good thing, unless one does it!"
This definitely applies to learning and teaching languages.
|kästner kolleg sprachen - a private
language school in Dresden, the capital city of Saxony, offers a friendly
and cosy learning environment.
kks was founded by Joanna and Uwe Kästner. It has evolved into
a modern, mid-sized language school, and is a leader in language training
| Our goal is to bring the German language and culture
to interested students all over the world and at the same time give them
a home away from home.
We understand how language is a part of culture. We discuss cultural topics
such as the regional aspects of the Saxon and German culture. We also
focus on the various viewpoints, opinions and experiences of our always
internationally diverse groups.
In our eyes, learning a language brings enrichment to each individual
and a chance for all of us to work peacefully together.
||The director, Dr. Uwe Kästner, has more than 17 years of
experience in teaching German as a foreign language. He attained his Ph.D in
Applied Linguistics and has worked throughout the world for universities, the
Goethe-Institut and the DAAD.
Our teachers are all native German speakers, have university diplomas
and several years of teaching experience. Moreover, they are highly motivated
and committed to their profession and the city of Dresden.
||Our school has 7 fully equipped modern classrooms,
a private study room with a library, computer and internet service, a cafeteria,
a reception area and a large park for relaxing right across the street -
as you can see: good views.
Our language school is located in the city quarter
"Dresden - Neustadt", a colorful Art Noveau area north of the
Elbe. In the Saxon capital there are more than 350 cozy cafés,
bars, galleries, movie theaters, museums, and shops awaiting your visit!
The colorful scene of the day is here in the "Florence of the North",
where lots of young creative artists and many students live.
We can easily be reached by tram or bus. In a short time you can experience the
romantic banks of the Elbe river, the old town or the nature reserve in the Saxon
Switzerland, a paradise for rock climbers, mountain bikers and hikers.
